Preliminary design of a hybrid military trainer aimed to replace the aging SF-260.

The design features a hybrid powertrain, combining a Kerosene piston engine and a brushless motor in a parallel configuration. Several simulations were performed to find the optimal grade of hybridization in function of the mission specifications.
 

Developed under the "Aircraft design" course at the Polytechnic University of Milan, in cooperation with Giovanni Gozzini, Marco Fogazzi, and Daniele Migliore.
